How To Find Chronic Constipation Relief

adult chronic constipation

From time to time, it is likely to suffer from a bout of constipation which makes it hard to have a bowel movement. If these symptoms occur every so often, a natural remedy that can be made at home is the best solution. However, if symptoms of constipation are chronic, a visit to the doctor is necessary to determine the true cause of the symptom which can be a sign of some other health problem.

Some of the most common remedies for constipation are as follows:

1.Fiber: Fiber can be found in many food sources including fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Fiber is critical for "cleaning" out the intestine and bulking up waste in the body. Fiber also promotes a feeling of fullness so it is great for dieters. Adding the recommended 6-8 servings of fruits and vegetables to the diet is a great start.

2.Exercise: Getting enough movement and activity gets all the systems of the body revved up and promotes good digestive health. A brisk walk around the block may be just what is needed to make everything regular.

3.Natural teas: Teas concocted of natural herbs can also be used to treat chronic constipation. Some popular ingredients for these herbal remedies include the following: senna, which is a natural plant, and aloe. It is important not to use these herbal remedies for long periods of time however as they also have some side effects.

4.Flax Seed: Flax seeds are a great gift of nature. They are full of fiber and help keep the body regular as well as full of omega 3 fatty acids to promote heart health. These are a delicious nutty flavored seed that can be added to just about any food, including protein shakes and a great way to add nutrition.

5.Acupuncture: Used for thousands of years to treat a variety of ailments and diseases, acupuncture is also a natural remedy for constipation.

Biofeedback Alleviates Chronic Constipation

In a prospective randomized trial, biofeedback improved bowel function compared with sham and standard treatment in patients with chronic constipation.
